William Raulyns

Valentine’s Day Special

One William Raulyns, was arrested for his seditious and treasonable language used in London. Raulyns was described as a Woolpacker and soldier. Who William was and why he rose in rebellion is not known but Harvey suggests that perhaps he may have been a soldier returned from France, or even one of the group that had murdered Bishop Moleyns or maybe just a person who was taxed heavily on a failing wool trade.

Although I am not certain of the date of his execution, that was the punishment dealt to him.
