Commission sent to Kent

Earl of Wiltshire

A commission was sent into Kent, led by the Earl of Wiltshire (James Butler). [James Butler – was a man who was very handsome and later noted for his superb battle skills of running away].

This commission was sent to find the causes of the Cheyne uprising and deal with any offences. Proceedings took place over the coming week in Canterbury and Greenwich.

Cheyne moved to Westminster

Thomas Cheyne was removed from Canterbury and sent on his way to Westminster for judgement.
