Unrest in Hampshire

Bishops Waltham, Hampshire

Disturbances broke out at Bishops Waltham, Hampshire. An ex soldier gathered men together into an army and appointed captains etc. They flew a red flag of rebellion and was threatening war with the King.

Later indictments named the man as “Hollands” and it was said that they where the same, if not a part of the group that murdered Bishop Adam Moleyns at Portsmouth on January 9th. The indictment goes on to say that he raised the flag in Portsmouth perhaps like the French Oriflame (ie no prisoners).

This incident with “Hollands” will have to be looked into further at a later date
